The state wants the city of Des Moines to take down its traffic camera on eastbound I-235 near Waverly Golf Course. Local agencies are supposed to show cameras are targeting "high-crash or high-risk locations."   IDOT says the area has few accidents and doesn’t need the extra surveillance.  In fact, it looks like out-of-towners were most likely to receive the unusually large number of tickets produced by the camera. Des Moines officials have a month to comply with or appeal the DOT ruling.
